According to Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffett contributes shares to personal charities.

Without mentioning whether the billionaire chairman made a fresh donation to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Berkshire Hathaway Inc. BRK.A reported that Warren Buffett had given more of his riches to four family charities.

Another 2.4 million Class B shares of the company, valued at $759 million based on Wednesday's closing price, were contributed by Buffett, according to a regulatory filing.

The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation received 1.5 million shares from Buffett. The foundation, which is named after his late first wife, offers college scholarships to Nebraskan youngsters, per its website.

The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, the Sherwood Foundation, and the Novo Foundation each received 900,000 additional shares, which were distributed equally among the three foundations owned by his children Howard, Susan, and Peter.

Since 2006, Buffett has contributed more than half of his Berkshire shares, which were valued more than $46 billion at the time.

More than 75% of the funds have gone to the Gates Foundation, which, despite the divorce of its namesake co-founders last year, is still among the greatest private charitable organisations in the world.

Requests for comment from Berkshire and the Gates Foundation did not receive a prompt response.

Buffett still holds 31.4% of Berkshire's voting rights and 15.5% of the company's equity following the most recent gifts.

As the Omaha, Nebraska-based business buys back its own stock from shareholders, both percentages increase.

According to Forbes magazine, Buffett still has a net worth of $110.2 billion, placing fifth globally.

In addition to owning stakes in companies like Apple Inc., Bank of America Corp., and Occidental Petroleum Corp., Berkshire owns dozens of businesses, including the BNSF railroad and Geico auto insurance. The business has been led by Buffett since 1965.

The Howard G. Buffett Foundation, according to the websites of the Buffett family foundation, seeks to reduce hunger, defuse conflicts, and enhance global public safety. In Nebraska, the Sherwood Foundation aids charitable groups, whilst the Novo Foundation works to aid local communities.
