Market rumours: The WSJ reports that Apple is planning to move some production outside of China.

In response to demonstrations at factories in Zhengzhou last month, The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple AAPL is moving part of its production out of China.

Workers at the Foxconn iPhone factory in Zhengzhou protested in late November over pay and China's anti-COVID policies.

According to reports, the tech giant is instructing its suppliers to make preparations for relocating assembly to other parts of Asia, mainly India and Vietnam, and to lessen reliance on companies led by Foxconn, which produces the majority of Apple's iPhones and is the largest employment in China.

Apple no longer feels comfortable having so much of its business tied because of the instability.
